What's New At The Gardens
The Spring Hill Garden Club volunteers have been busy in 2011.
In addition to the Botanical Gardens and Nursery, they have taken on the project of restoring and maintaining the
Landmark Spring Hill Waterfall. This is a major undertaking and we will be counting on your ongoing support to help
keep the Spring Hill Waterfall flowing and flowering
We have updated and installed a paved walkway into the Desertscape Garden. We have planted new varieties of cactus.
We can always use more plants in this garden, if you are interested in donating cactus to the Desertscape, call us at (352) 683-9933.
Another improvement to the Gardens is the new walkway into the Gazebo at the Rose Garden.
Many brides reserve the Rose Garden for weddings, the new pathway will make it easier for them to 'walk down the aisle' wearing heels.
We have many new volunteers that are bringing their ideas and hard work to improve the Gardens. We appreciate all of them.
The addition of a golf cart has made it easier for volunteers to give garden tours.
We hope that the cart can be used to assist visitors who may have difficulty walking to view the Gardens.
The Botanical Gardens would like to thank Doug Brainard for the donation of the golf cart, in memory of his mother who loved to garden.
We will continue to make improvements for the many Nature Coast residents who will visit the Gardens this year.
If you have any suggestions, please contact us at the above phone number.
Some of the new things that we are working on for the future are; another new garden area, improving signs for all plants in the Gardens, and upgrading some of the walkways in the gardens to hardscape, which will be easier for handicapped visitors.
